Companies and their investors are continuing to reassess their business strategies to address the ever-changing mandates relating to ESG (environmental, social and governance). These criteria factor into all aspects of their organizations and into many areas companies may not be paying enough attention to as they continue on their ESG journey.

Please join us for the second session of our new webinar series hosted by the members of our ESG Collaborative team.

Is This an ESG Fund? SEC Proposes Rule to Help Investors Find Out

As interest in ESG investing grows, there is considerable variation in how fund managers define ESG and how funds approach ESG investing. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has proposed disclosure rules designed to create a “consistent, comparable and decision-useful” regulatory framework for ESG funds. The goal is to create consistent standards for ESG disclosures that allow investors to make informed decisions as they compare various ESG investments. The next session in our ESG Collaborative webinar series will examine the proposed disclosure requirements and their impact on registered investment companies.

Topics of discussion for this session include:

  1. Overview of the proposed ESG disclosure rules
  2. Impact of the proposed rules on investment decisions
  3. Compliance tasks and challenges
  4. Reaction and likelihood the rules will be adopted
