I’m pretty sure Dr. Seuss was not thinking about Cyber Threats when he wrote his books about new and old threats. All of you are constantly looking at the threat landscape and trying to mitigate risk to your organization.
In this series we will examine the most current threat landscape and consider some lingering threats that continue to plague us.
What’s old is new again. We have all heard that before. With cyber threats we can get mesmerized with the latest attacks but we can rarely let our guard down on the old threats. This is partly because we don’t seem to fully remove the vulnerabilities to the existing threat vectors. Vulnerabilities tend to come back around to bite us and we have seen many examples of this over the last couple of years. In this series we will discuss how to reduce our attack surface by better managing threats, vulnerabilities, and our overall attack surface. We will think strategically about how we look at these areas more holistically instead of as individual programs.
