Thompson Hine Earns Equality 100 Award in Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2025 Corporate Equality Index

Thompson Hine LLP is proud to announce that it received a score of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2025 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premier benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. Thompson Hine is among 765 U.S. businesses that received the top ranking this year, earning the honor previously known as “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.” This is the 12th consecutive year the firm has earned high marks.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to fostering a firm culture that celebrates and leverages our diverse backgrounds and perspectives,” said Tony White, the firm’s managing partner. “Our focus is on creating an environment where every individual feels valued and respected, and where fairness and inclusivity are at the forefront of our interactions. By encouraging active participation and recognizing the unique contributions of each team member, we drive innovation and creativity within our firm. We understand that an inclusive workplace not only enhances our problem-solving capabilities but also propels us in new and exciting directions. Embracing and respecting the differences within our workforce is essential to our continued success and growth.”

The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars: nondiscrimination policies across business entities, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture, and corporate social responsibility.

Thompson Hine remains committed to ensuring that its efforts support a diverse workforce and foster an inclusive environment where people of different backgrounds, distinct perspectives and varied experience can thrive and succeed. The strength of that commitment is evident in the firm’s leadership. In an industry first, last year Thompson Hine transitioned its top leadership from Deborah Read, one of the first women to lead a large firm, to White, who is one of a handful of African Americans currently occupying the top role at an Am Law 200 firm and one of only about a dozen to have held the position at any point. Additionally, 50% of the firm’s principal governing body are attorneys from groups generally less well-represented in larger law firms.
