Mitchel</a></strong>l, a partner and co-chair of the firm’s&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://www.thompsonhine.com/services/white-collar-criminal-practice-internal-investigations-government-enforcement" target="_self" rel="noopener">White-Collar Criminal Practice, Internal Investigations &amp; Government Enforcement practice group</a></strong>, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in North America. He joins Thompson Hine’s Elizabeth B. Wright and David J. Hooker, who previously earned this distinction.

The American College of Trial Lawyers is an invitation-only fellowship of exceptional trial lawyers of diverse backgrounds from the United States and Canada. The College thoroughly investigates each nominee for admission and selects only those who have demonstrated the very highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism and collegiality. The College is the leading trial lawyers’ organization in the United States and Canada, consisting of no more than 1% of the total lawyer population of any state or province in North America.

Mitchell is an experienced first-chair trial lawyer who has defended companies and individuals in criminal, administrative and civil trials in state and federal courts throughout the United States. He has tried approximately 80 cases in his career. Mitchell’s white-collar criminal defense practice also encompasses internal corporate investigations, health care fraud investigations, environmental criminal actions, tax matters, grand jury investigations and related administrative proceedings. His civil practice encompasses business litigation and product liability matters.

Mitchell has been recognized by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America® and Benchmark Litigation. He has been named to the Ohio Super Lawyers® list and repeatedly designated by Super Lawyers as one of Cleveland’s top 50 lawyers and as one of Ohio’s top 100 lawyers. Mitchell also is AV Preeminent® peer review rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Prior to joining Thompson Hine, Mitchell served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Cuyahoga County and ascended to the elite Major Trials Unit. His experience and track record led to his appointment as a special prosecutor in multiple high-profile homicide, public corruption and organized-crime cases.
