Greg is a partner in the firm’s Business Litigation practice group, providing counsel on complex litigation matters, focusing extensively on consumer class action defense. With broad experience in federal and state courts nationwide, Greg represents financial services firms, technology companies, retailers, and other consumer-facing clients in class actions involving alleged violations of federal and state consumer fraud and privacy laws, breach of fiduciary duty, and contract disputes. He has particular experience defending technology companies in class actions brought under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.

In addition to his class action defense work, Greg assists clients with investigations, enforcement actions, and litigation initiated by regulatory bodies, including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and state attorneys general.

  • Represented a major national bank in litigation brought by the Mississippi attorney general alleging deceptive and unfair conduct in connection with collections litigation and debt collection practices

  • Represented a large national bank in settlement of investigations by the OCC, CFPB and numerous state attorneys general regarding collections litigation and debt collection practices
  • Represented a major online retailer in several class action cases under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, including class action cases related to photographs, voice technology and cloud services technology
  • Represented a manufacturer of electric cars in a Biometric Information Privacy Act case alleging improper collection of facial geometry data
  • Represented the developer of a popular social media app in litigation under the Biometric Information Privacy Act
  • Represented clients in numerous industries, including airlines, railroads, healthcare and retail, in Biometric Privacy Act litigation
  • Represented a retailer in national litigation relating to the sale and dispensing of opioids
  • Represented a manufacturer of medical devices in multidistrict litigation related to the recall of respiratory products
  • Represented a major internet retailer in a class action alleging consumer fraud in connection with the sale of discount vouchers
  • Represented a prominent ride-sharing company in litigation alleging unfair competition and fraud
