These CIPA claims have had a devastating impact on small businesses both within and beyond California. The discussion also focused on conflicts arising between CIPA and California’s landmark privacy laws—the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act—which were specifically designed to address website tracking technologies.
