Partner

Dean is a partner in the firm’s Commercial & Public Finance practice group. He focuses his practice on tax exempt bond finance and public finance, as well as real estate leasing and municipal law.

Prior to joining Thompson Hine, Dean gained experience at firms in Ohio and Kentucky. In those roles he served on the bond and/or underwriter’s counsel teams for several high-profile debt financings in the Greater Cincinnati region, including The Ascent at Roebling’s Bridge and Newport Pavilion development projects. He participated in numerous public financing transactions for charitable organizations, including Mount Notre Dame High School (OH), Covington Catholic High School (KY), Main Street Baptist Church (KY) and Notre Dame Academy (KY). Dean also participated in tax increment financing and tax abatement negotiation and document preparation with developer, bond and/or underwriter’s counsel for the Rivers Crossing, Kenwood Towne Place and Newport on the Levee projects.

  • Extensive experience in drafting revenue bond documentation, letter of credit facilities and related security documents for conduit bond financings
  • Experience with commercial lease negotiation and drafting
  • Acted as counsel and owner’s representative for 501(c)(3) corporation in its renovation of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Park Hills, Kentucky
