A complimentary webinar series presented by Thompson Hine LLP
Please join us for Session 2 of our SECURE 2.0 Deep Dive series.
This session will focus on the rules concerning long-term part-time employees under SECURE 1.0 and SECURE 2.0. We will review the rules that will apply starting 1/1/24 and discuss the modifications that will apply starting 1/1/25 under SECURE 2.0. Join us to learn the answers to questions like:
- Who is considered a long-term part-time employee?
- What changes do we need to make to our plan effective 1/1/24?
- Will we be required to make matching contributions on behalf of long-term part-time employees who become eligible to make contributions under the new rules?
- How do the new rules affect how we determine years of vesting service?
We’ll discuss steps you can take now to plan for these changes, including demographic and cost data that you should gather to make decisions regarding design options. In addition, if the IRS issues long-awaited guidance addressing some of the open questions, we will review that guidance as well. If not, we will review the open questions regarding the new rules.
Presenters:
- Laura A. Ryan, Partner, Thompson Hine
- Michael R. Durnwald, Associate, Thompson Hine
